The AIGA MN event, evolvedesign, re-affirmed my belief that design can change the world. I am also very impressed with the history of graphic design here in Minnesota. The event at the University of Minnesota, with a sold out crowd of 700 and a panel of highly respected graphic design superstars discussed a variety of topics: starting their own businesses; the current state of graphic design; education; and the future of the industry.
Congratulations to Sherwin Schwartzrock, the man behind the idea. Sherwin is the chair of the AIGA Minnesota Veteran Designers Committee. I’ve spent some time with the group, who are all dedicated veterans of the graphic design profession.
